The APW7016 is a complete control and protection circuit for a DC-DC converter optimized for high performance microprocessor applications. It is designed to drive two N-Channel MOSFETs in a synchronous rectified buck topology. The APW7016 integrates output voltage control, monitoring and protection functions into a single Package. The APW7016 includes a 3-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) that provides a easily adjustable and precisely output voltage from 1.3VDC to 1.65VDC in 0.05V steps. Any selected output voltage can be maintained within ±1% accuracy over temperature and line voltage variations. The APW7016 also features with multiple protections against over-current and over-voltage conditions by inhibiting PWM operation.
The APW7016 is an advanced PWM power controller designed for high‑performance microprocessor applications. It features voltage‑mode PWM control, a 3‑bit DAC for programmable output voltage (1.3 V to 1.65 V in 0.05 V steps), full 0 %‑100 % duty ratio, and built‑in over‑voltage and over‑current protection.
The device is offered in SOP‑16 and SSOP‑16 packages, supports a programmable switching frequency from 50 kHz to 800 kHz, and includes detailed pin functions for voltage sensing, gate driving, and soft‑start control. Electrical and thermal characteristics, absolute maximum ratings, and ordering information are provided for designers.
