Vinculum VNC1L is the first of FTDI's Vinculum family of Embedded USB host controller integrated circuit devices
The VNC1L is FTDI’s first Vinculum family device that combines a full USB host/slave controller with an 8/32‑bit MCU core, 64 kB embedded flash, 4 kB SRAM and twin DMA engines. It supports USB 2.0 full‑speed and low‑speed devices, provides UART, FIFO and SPI interfaces, and up to 28 GPIO pins for flexible integration.
The IC is supplied in a Pb‑free 48‑lead LQFP package, operates from –40 °C to 70 °C, and draws only 25 mA in active mode and 2 mA in standby. Firmware can be updated in the field via a USB flash drive or through the UART programming pins (PROG# and RESET#).
