The MM232R is a USB-to-serial UART development module that incorporates clock generator output and FTDIChip-ID™ security dongle. It uses FTDI's FT232RQ chip, the latest device to be added to FTDI's range of USB UART interface Integrated Circuit Devices.
The MM232R is an ultra‑small 18.0 mm × 21.5 mm development module that integrates the FT232RQ USB‑to‑UART IC, an on‑board EEPROM, clock generator and USB resistors. It provides optional 6 MHz, 12 MHz, 24 MHz or 48 MHz clock output and a unique FTDIChip‑ID security dongle feature for software licensing.
The module is supplied with 16 PCB header pins (2.55 mm pitch) and supports USB bus‑powered, self‑powered or high‑current designs. It offers configurable CBUS I/O pins, level conversion for 1.8 V‑5.25 V logic, and full driver support for Windows, macOS and Linux.
