The MAX3802 is a single-chip quad adaptive cable equalizer and cable driver designed for coaxial and twin-axial cable point-to-point scrambled data communications applications.
The MAX3802 integrates four independent adaptive cable equalizers and four cable drivers on a single 68‑pin QFN chip. It supports both differential and single‑ended CML inputs and provides a loss‑of‑signal (LOS) TTL output. The device automatically adjusts to up to 30 dB of cable loss at 1.6 GHz, extending usable copper‑cable length for high‑speed interconnects.
Typical applications include high‑speed communication links, backplane and twin‑axial interconnects, Category‑5 UTP systems, and digital video systems. The datasheet details absolute maximum ratings, DC/AC electrical characteristics, pin descriptions, and package dimensions.
