About this manual

The MMA7455L is a low‑power, low‑profile, capacitive micromachined accelerometer with digital I²C/SPI output. It offers selectable ranges of ±2 g, ±4 g and ±8 g, built‑in self‑test, level‑detection for motion, pulse detection for single or double pulses, and a standby mode suited for battery‑powered handheld devices. The device is supplied in a 14‑lead LGA‑14 package and includes on‑chip temperature compensation and ESD protection.

Typical applications include cell‑phone image stabilization, hard‑disk free‑fall detection, laptop anti‑theft, pedometers and other motion‑sensing systems. The datasheet provides detailed pin descriptions, maximum ratings, operating characteristics, detection function parameters, and mechanical package dimensions for PCB designers.
