About this manual

The Maxim MAX3322E and MAX3323E are low‑power RS‑232 transceivers designed for multidrop applications. They operate from a 3.0 V to 5.5 V supply, provide pin‑selectable 5 kΩ or high‑impedance receiver inputs, and feature a separate VL logic‑level supply for mixed‑voltage systems.

Both devices include a dual charge‑pump that generates ±5.5 V output levels, deliver up to 250 kbps data rates, and are protected against up to ±15 kV ESD (Human Body Model). The MAX3322E offers a 2 Tx/2 Rx configuration in a 20‑pin TSSOP package, while the MAX3323E provides a 1 Tx/1 Rx version in 16‑pin DIP or TSSOP packages.
