The ADP5589 is a keypad decoder and I/O expander from Analog Devices (ADI). It supports a 16-element FIFO for event recording and has 19 configurable I/Os that can be used for keypad decoding, key press/release interrupts, key pad lock/unlock, GPIO functions, etc.
The ADP5589 from Analog Devices provides 19 configurable I/O pins that can be used for keypad matrix decoding (up to an 11 × 8 matrix), general‑purpose I/O expansion, PWM generation, clock division and dual reset generators. It integrates a 16‑event FIFO and programmable logic blocks to reduce processor load and board area.
The device operates from a 1.65 V to 3.6 V supply, supports I²C‑compatible communication, and offers selectable pull‑up/pull‑down resistors, open‑drain and push‑pull outputs, as well as debounce filtering for reliable key scanning.
