Analog Devices ADuM5240 Dual-Channel Isolator Data Sheet

ADuM5240/ADuM5241/ADuM5242 are dual-channel digital isolators with isoPower® integrated, isolated power. Based on the ADuM514x1 family of devices, they offer higher isolation voltage and higher bandwidth. These isolators provide very high isolation performance (up to 560 V peak) and offer high-speed signal isolation of up to 1 Mbps.

About this manual

The ADuM5240 (and its ADuM5241/ADuM5242 family) are dual‑channel digital isolators that incorporate an isoPower® isolated DC‑to‑DC converter, delivering up to 50 mW of regulated 5 V power. The device uses Analog Devices' iCoupler® technology to isolate both logic signals and power in a compact SOIC package, supporting data rates up to 1 Mbps and offering high common‑mode transient immunity.

The data sheet details electrical characteristics such as a 70 ns maximum propagation delay, 2500 V rms isolation rating, and supply voltage ranges of 4.5 V–5.5 V (converter enabled) or 2.7 V–4.0 V (converter disabled). It also includes pin‑out diagrams, typical performance curves, regulatory approvals (UL, CSA, VDE), and recommended PCB layout guidelines for optimal thermal and isolation performance.
