About this manual

The AD7579 and AD7580 are 10‑bit, successive‑approximation analog‑to‑digital converters that operate from a single +5 V supply. They accept differential inputs in unipolar or bipolar mode, offering input ranges of 0‑2.5 V, 0‑5 V, or ±2.5 V without external conditioning. On‑chip sample‑and‑hold and a conversion time under 20 µs make them suitable for digitizing AC signals up to 25 kHz bandwidth.

Both devices provide a choice of data formats (8 + 2 bits for AD7579, 10‑bit parallel for AD7580) and feature low power consumption (≤50 mW). The datasheet includes detailed static and dynamic specifications, timing diagrams, absolute maximum ratings, ordering information, and pin‑out descriptions for DIP and surface‑mount packages.
