This is an introduction document about Microchip 64/80-Pin, 1-Mbit, Enhanced Flash Microcontrollers with 10-bit A/D and nanoWatt Technology
The PIC18F8722 family consists of 64‑pin and 80‑pin enhanced flash microcontrollers offering up to 1 Mbit of program memory, 10‑bit, up to 16‑channel ADC, and a range of peripheral modules such as MSSP, EUSART, CCP/ECCP, comparators and a hardware multiplier. The devices support an external memory interface of up to 2 Mbytes and feature nanoWatt low‑power technology with idle currents as low as 15 µA and sleep currents down to 0.2 µA.
Key features include a wide operating voltage range (2.0 V – 5.5 V), high‑current I/O (25 mA sink/source), multiple interrupt sources, and extensive development support through ICSP, ICD and MPLAB tools. The data sheet provides detailed electrical characteristics, packaging information, and migration guides for moving from baseline to enhanced devices.
