This document describes the features and characteristics of various devices including PIC16F83, PIC16F84, PIC16CR83, PIC16CR84, such as high-performance RISC CPU, Flash program memory, EEPROM data memory, and peripheral features.
The PIC16F8X family is a low‑cost, high‑performance 8‑bit microcontroller series that includes the PIC16F83, PIC16F84, PIC16CR83 and PIC16CR84 devices. They use a reduced 35‑instruction RISC core, a four‑level deep hardware stack, and offer up to four interrupt sources, on‑chip watchdog, power‑on reset and sleep modes. The devices support In‑Circuit Serial Programming via two pins and provide up to 1 KB of Flash program memory or ROM, 64 bytes of EEPROM and up to 68 bytes of RAM.
All devices are offered in 18‑pin DIP and SOIC packages, operate from 2.0 V to 6.0 V (commercial and industrial ranges) and run at up to 10 MHz. The datasheet details the pinout, memory organization, timer module, I/O ports, electrical characteristics and packaging information for designers and system integrators.
