The ADM690A/ADM692A/ADM802L/M/ADM805L/M family of supervisory circuits offers complete single chip solutions for power failure detection and handling. It features precision supply voltage monitoring, reset function, watchdog timer, etc.
The ADM690A/ADM692A/ADM802L/M/ADM805L/M family provides single‑chip solutions for power‑supply monitoring, microprocessor reset, watchdog timing and battery backup switching in microprocessor systems. The devices operate from a 1.0 V to 5.5 V supply, generate a reset output when VCC falls below a programmable threshold, and include a 1.6 s watchdog timer that forces a reset if not serviced.
Typical specifications include low quiescent current (70‑100 µA), ultra‑low battery‑backup current (0.05‑1.0 µA), reset voltage thresholds of 4.5‑4.75 V (ADM690A series) or 4.25‑4.5 V (ADM692A series), and a watchdog timeout of 1.6 s. The devices are offered in 8‑pin DIP, SOIC and micro‑SOIC packages and are used in computers, controllers and intelligent instruments.
| Operating Voltage Range (VCC) | 1.0 V – 5.5 V |
|---|---|
| Supply Current (no load) | 70 µA – 100 µA |
| Supply Current in Battery Backup Mode | 0.05 µA – 1.0 µA |
| Reset Voltage Threshold (ADM690A/ADM802L/ADM805L) | 4.5 V – 4.75 V |
| Watchdog Timeout Delay | 200 ms – 280 ms |
| Power‑Fail Input Threshold | 1.20 V – 1.30 V |
The devices operate from 1.0 V up to 5.5 V supply voltage.
The watchdog timer times out after 1.6 seconds if not serviced.
