This document describes the features and characteristics of Analog Devices' Blackfin Embedded Processor ADSP-BF538/ADSP-BF538F Rev. D, including high-performance processor, multiple arithmetic units, RISC-like register and instruction model for ease of programming and compiler support, advanced debugging and performance monitoring capabilities, etc.
The ADSP-BF538/ADSP-BF538F processors belong to Analog Devices' Blackfin family and combine a high‑performance DSP core with a RISC‑like instruction set. They support up to 533 MHz clock speed, a 316‑ball CSP‑BGA package, and a range of on‑chip memory configurations.
The devices provide a rich set of peripherals, including multiple UARTs, SPI ports, CAN 2.0B controller, parallel peripheral interface, timers with PWM, and up to 54 GPIO pins. Optional 8 M‑bit parallel flash and external memory interfaces (SDRAM, SRAM, flash) enable flexible system designs for audio, video, and industrial applications.
