The SMSC USB2504/USB2504A is a fully compliant USB 2.0 hub that can operate as a Full‑Speed, High‑Speed or Low‑Speed hub. It includes four downstream ports, each with its own Transaction Translator for maximum throughput, and supports both bus‑powered and self‑powered operation with selectable power‑switching options.
The device is offered in a 64‑pin TQFP lead‑free RoHS‑compliant package and contains an internal 1.8 V linear regulator, a 24 MHz crystal driver (or external clock), integrated USB termination, pull‑up/pull‑down resistors, and over‑current protection. Configuration can be performed via internal defaults, an external EEPROM, or an SMBus interface.
