Linear Technology LT3465/LT3465A Datasheet

The LT ®3465/LT3465A are step-up DC/DC converters designed to drive up to six LEDs in series from a Li-Ion cell. These devices integrate the Schottky diode required externally on competing devices. Additional features include output voltage limiting when LEDs are disconnected, one-pin shutdown and dimming control. The LT3465 has internal soft-start.

About this manual

The LT3465 and LT3465A are step‑up DC/DC converters designed to drive up to six white LEDs from a single Li‑Ion cell. They feature an integrated Schottky diode, automatic soft‑start, open‑LED protection, and high efficiency (81 % for LT3465, 79 % for LT3465A). The devices operate at 1.2 MHz (LT3465) or 2.4 MHz (LT3465A) and require only a 0.22 µF output capacitor.

Typical applications include cellular phones, PDAs, digital cameras, MP3 players, and GPS receivers. Recommended components are a 22 µH (or 10 µH for LT3465A) low‑loss inductor and X5R/X7R ceramic capacitors. The parts are supplied in a low‑profile 6‑lead SOT‑23 (ThinSOT) package.
