The LT3465/LT3465A is a step-up DC/DC converter designed to drive up to six LEDs in series from a Li-Ion cell. The device features built-in Schottky diode, open LED protection, high efficiency, automatic soft-start, and more.
The LT3465 and LT3465A are step‑up DC/DC converters designed to drive up to six LEDs in series from a Li‑Ion cell. They integrate a Schottky diode, provide automatic soft‑start, open‑LED protection, and dimming control. The LT3465 switches at 1.2 MHz, while the LT3465A operates at 2.4 MHz, allowing the use of very small external components.
Typical applications include cellular phones, PDAs, digital cameras, MP3 players, and GPS receivers. Recommended external components are a 22 µH inductor and a 0.22 µF output capacitor. The devices are offered in a low‑profile 6‑lead SOT‑23 (ThinSOT) package.

|---|---|
| Maximum output voltage (Vout) | 30 V |
| Switching frequency (LT3465) | 1.2 MHz |
| Switching frequency (LT3465A) | 2.4 MHz |
| Typical efficiency (LT3465) | 81 % |
| Required output capacitor | 0.22 µF |
| Package type | 6‑lead SOT‑23 (ThinSOT) |
| Maximum duty cycle | 90 % (typ) / 93 % (max) |
| Switch current limit | 225 mA (typ) / 340 mA (max) |
The LT3465/LT3465A can drive up to six LEDs in series from a single Li‑Ion cell.
A 22 µH inductor is recommended for most LT3465 applications.
The LT3465A switches at 2.4 MHz.
Only a 0.22 µF output capacitor is required for typical LED loads.
