SHT21P is about to set new standards in the humidity and temperature sensor industry.
The SHT21 P is a humidity and temperature sensor offered by Sensirion in a 3 × 3 mm DFN package (1.1 mm height). It provides calibrated analog PWM output and optional digital I²C/SDM interfaces. The document includes performance specifications, electrical characteristics, and recommended PCB layout and soldering procedures.
Key sections cover sensor performance (accuracy, range, response time), electrical specifications (supply voltage 2.1‑3.6 V, current up to 180 µA, PWM frequency ~120 Hz), handling and storage guidelines, and packaging information. The datasheet is marked as preliminary, so details may change.
| Package dimensions | 3 × 3 mm footprint, 1.1 mm height |
|---|---|
| Supply voltage (VDD) | 2.1 V – 3.6 V (typical 3.0 V) |
| Supply current (IDD) | 5 µA – 180 µA |
| Power dissipation | 0.54 mW (typical) |
| Humidity resolution | 10 bit |
| Temperature resolution | 12 bit |
| Humidity accuracy | ±1.5 %RH (typical) |
| Temperature accuracy | ±0.3 °C (typical) |
| Humidity operating range | 0 % – 100 %RH |
| Temperature operating range | -40 °C – 125 °C |
| Long‑term temperature drift | < 0.04 °C/yr |
The sensor operates from 2.1 V to 3.6 V, with a recommended supply of 3.0 V.
SCL high selects humidity output, while SCL low selects temperature output.
The sensor tolerates a peak temperature of up to 260 °C for no more than 40 seconds in reflow, or 233 °C for up to 60 seconds in vapor‑phase reflow.
Store the sensor at 10 °C – 50 °C and 20 % – 60 %RH, in its original antistatic bag, with a moisture‑sensitivity level of 2 for up to one year.
