About this manual

The HIN202E‑HIN232E series are high‑speed RS‑232 transmitter/receiver ICs that operate from a single +5 V supply and include on‑chip charge‑pump voltage doublers to generate ±10 V RS‑232 levels. They feature +15 kV ESD protection, low typical supply currents (5‑15 mA) and optional shutdown mode for battery‑powered applications.

These devices are offered in a variety of package types (PDIP, SOIC, SSOP, TSSOP) and driver/receiver configurations, making them suitable for computers, printers, terminals, modems, ISDN adapters and other high‑speed serial communication equipment. Ordering information, pinouts, absolute maximum ratings and detailed electrical specifications are provided in the datasheet.
