About this manual

The AD5259 is a compact, nonvolatile digital potentiometer offering 256‑position adjustment in either a thin LFCSP‑10 (3 mm × 3 mm × 0.8 mm) or a compact MSOP‑10 (3 mm × 4.9 mm × 1.1 mm) package. It features an I²C‑compatible interface, EEPROM‑stored wiper settings and resistance tolerance, and supports up to four devices on a single bus using address pins ADO and AD1.

Key specifications include a supply range of 3 V to 5 V, operating temperature from –40 °C to +85 °C, end‑to‑end resistance options of 5 kΩ, 10 kΩ, 50 kΩ or 100 kΩ, and a typical data‑retention time of 100 years at 55 °C. The device also offers 0.1 % resistance tolerance, a maximum junction temperature of 150 °C, and ESD protection up to 4000 V.
