About this manual

The MAX5019 and MAX5020 integrate all building blocks needed for fixed‑frequency DC‑DC power supplies. They support both isolated and non‑isolated topologies and feature a high‑voltage startup circuit that can operate directly from 18 V to 110 V input. The devices use current‑mode control with leading‑edge blanking and an internally trimmed 275 kHz oscillator, reducing external component count.

MAX5019 is suited for flyback converters with up to 85 % duty cycle, while MAX5020 is intended for single‑ended forward converters limited to less than 50 % duty cycle. Both are offered in an 8‑pin SO package and include protection features such as soft‑start, thermal shutdown, and pulse‑by‑pulse current limiting.
