LM2597/LM2597HV is a monolithic integrated circuit that provides all the active functions for a step-down (buck) switching regulator. It is capable of driving a 0.5A load with excellent line and load regulation, and supports 3.3V, 5V, 12V fixed output and adjustable output. It also features internal frequency compensation, improved line and load specifications, fixed-frequency oscillator, Shutdown /Soft-start, error flag delay and error flag output.
The LM2597/LM2597HV series are monolithic step‑down switching regulators that provide up to 0.5 A output current with excellent line and load regulation. They are available in fixed 3.3 V, 5 V, 12 V versions and an adjustable version, and operate from input voltages up to 45 V (LM2597) or 60 V (LM2597HV). The devices include internal frequency compensation, shutdown/soft‑start, error‑flag output, and a 150 kHz fixed‑frequency oscillator.
The datasheet lists absolute maximum ratings, electrical characteristics, typical performance curves, and physical dimensions for the 8‑lead DIP and 8‑lead surface‑mount packages. It also provides ordering information, application notes, and a life‑support policy disclaimer.
| Output current | 0.5 A |
|---|---|
