About this manual

The LM2576 series are monolithic step‑down (buck) switching regulators capable of delivering a guaranteed 3.0 A output current. Fixed output versions are available at 3.3 V, 5.0 V, 12 V and 15 V, plus an adjustable version covering 1.23‑37 V. The devices feature a 52 kHz fixed‑frequency internal oscillator, TTL shutdown capability, low‑power standby mode, and cycle‑by‑cycle current limiting with thermal shutdown protection.

Typical applications include high‑efficiency buck converters, pre‑regulators for linear regulators, on‑card switching supplies, and power supplies for battery chargers. The datasheet also includes PCB layout guidelines, package dimensions for TO‑220, D2PAK and D2PAK variants, and ordering information.
