The LM139/239/239A/339/339A/LM2901/MC3302 is a precision voltage comparator with an input common–mode voltage range including ground, which can be directly interfaced with TTL and CMOS. Its working voltage range is wide, input bias current is low, input offset current and offset voltage are low, and power supply current consumption is very low.
The Philips LM139 series comprises four independent precision voltage comparators designed for single‑supply operation over a wide voltage range. The devices feature low offset voltage, low bias current, and output compatibility with TTL, CMOS, and MOS logic families.
The data sheet provides absolute maximum ratings, electrical characteristics, typical performance curves, and ordering information for multiple package types, including ceramic and plastic dual‑in‑line packages. It also includes notes on application limits and usage guidelines.
| Supply voltage range | 2.0 V DC to 36 V DC (single) or ±1.0 V DC to ±18 V DC (dual) |
|---|---|
| Supply current per comparator | 0.8 mA (≈1.0 mW at 5 V) |
| Input bias current | 25 nA |
| Output saturation voltage | 250 mV at 4 mA |
| Operating temperature range (LM139) | -55 °C to +125 °C |
The LM139 series operates from 2.0 V DC up to 36 V DC on a single supply, or from ±1.0 V DC to ±18 V DC on dual supplies.
Each comparator draws about 0.8 mA, which corresponds to roughly 1.0 mW at a 5 V supply.
The LM139 is offered in 14‑Pin ceramic dual‑in‑line (Cerdip) and 14‑Pin plastic dual‑in‑line (DIP) packages.
