This document introduces the Intersil HC-5504B EIA/ITU PABX SLIC with 40mA Loop Feed. HC-5504B EIA/ITU PABX SLIC with 40mA Loop Feed is a single IC chip that integrates many of the BORSHT functions.
This data sheet describes the Intersil HC-5504B Subscriber Line Interface Circuit (SLIC). It includes features such as pin‑for‑pin replacement, 5 V or 12 V operation, monolithic integration, and power‑denial functions for PBX systems.
The document contains ordering information, absolute maximum ratings, electrical specifications, pinout diagrams, functional and schematic diagrams, and application examples with typical component values.
| Maximum Junction Temperature | 150°C |
|---|---|
| Maximum Lead Temperature (Soldering 10 s) | 300°C |
| Supply Voltage (Vg+) | 5 V or 12 V |
Pin 1 TIP is an analog input connected to the TIP side of the subscriber loop through a feed resistor and ring relay contact.
A 0.3 nF, 30 V capacitor is recommended for pin 5.
The loop current during power denial is specified as 200 µA (2002‑+2‑mA in the sheet).
