This document introduces the features and characteristics of the HC55180, HC55181, HC55183 and HC55184 four ringing SLIC products, including: battery operation to 100V, low standby power consumption of 50mW, peak ringing amplitude 95V, 5 REN, sinusoidal or trapezoidal waveform ringing, robust auto-detection mechanisms for when subscribers go on or off hook, as well as minimal external discrete application components.
The RSLIC18 family of ringing subscriber line interface circuits (RSLIC) supports analog POTS in short and medium loop lengths, wireless and wireline applications. It is designed for remote subscriber units, offering high ringing voltage and low power consumption.
Key specifications include 100 V operating voltage, 50 mW low standby power, 95 V peak ringing amplitude, sinusoidal or trapezoidal ringing waveforms, integrated CODEC interface, and a 28‑lead PLCC package. The HC55183 variant provides an integrated battery switch, 450 B longitudinal balance, and loopback test capability. Pin descriptions cover tip, battery grounds, switch control, mode control, and detector outputs.
