The AT91R40008 microcontroller is a member of the Atmel AT91 16/32-bit microcontroller family, which is based on the ARM7TDMI processor core. This processor has a high-performance, 32-bit RISC architecture with a high-density 16-bit instruction set. It supports 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit read and write operations. The microcontroller also features 256K bytes of on-chip static random-access memory (SRAM), a fully programmable external bus interface (EBI) with a maximum external address space of 64M bytes, an eight-level priority, individually maskable, vectored interrupt controller, programmable I/O lines, a three-channel 16-bit timer/counter, two USARTs, and a programmable watchdog timer.
The AT91R40008 is a 32‑bit microcontroller built around an ARM7TDMI®/Thumb® core. It offers 256 KB of on‑chip SRAM, a fully programmable external bus interface, eight‑level priority interrupt controller and a range of peripherals including two USARTs, three 16‑bit timer/counters and 32 programmable I/O lines. The device operates from 0 Hz to 75 MHz with core and I/O voltage ranges of 1.65‑1.95 V and 2.7‑3.6 V respectively, and is specified for –40 °C to +85 °C.
The package is a 100‑lead green LQFP, supporting up to 64 MB of external address space. The datasheet includes pin descriptions, block diagrams, power‑supply details, reset behavior, emulation functions and full ordering information.
