The Advanced AMS2596 is a RoHS compliant monolithic super switcher system introduced by Advanced Monolithic Systems, Inc. It features a fixed output voltage of 1.25V to 7V in 100mV increments, an input voltage range of up to 30V, low power standby mode, excellent line and load regulation specifications, on-board switching regulators, thermal shutdown and current limit protection, and a high-efficiency step-down (buck) regulator. It is suitable for applications such as LCD monitors, LCD TVs, positive to negative converters, and system power supplies.
The AMS2596 series are monolithic step‑down (buck) switching regulators that operate from an input voltage up to 30 V and provide fixed or adjustable output voltages from 1.25 V to 7 V (fixed) or 1.2 V‑25 V (adjustable). They feature a 150 kHz internal oscillator, low standby current (≈80 nA), and built‑in thermal shutdown and current‑limit protection.
The device is offered in several TO‑220, TO‑252, TO‑263 and SO‑8 packages, with detailed pin‑out, electrical characteristics, typical performance curves, and package dimensions provided for design reference.
