This document describes the features and characteristics of the high-speed half-duplex iCoupler isolated RS-485 transceiver ADM2486 Rev. D.
The ADM2486 is an isolated RS‑485/RS‑422 transceiver that combines a three‑channel isolator, a three‑state differential driver, and a differential receiver in a single 16‑lead SOIC package. It supports 5 V or 3 V operation, provides high common‑mode transient immunity (>25 kV/ps), and includes current‑limiting and thermal shutdown protection.
Designed for industrial field networks such as PROFIBUS, the device meets multiple safety standards (UL, CSA, VDE, DIN EN) and operates over a temperature range of –40 °C to +85 °C, making it suitable for robust multipoint data transmission systems.
