About this manual

The AD8400/AD8402/AD8403 family provides single‑, dual‑, and quad‑channel digital potentiometers. Each device contains a fixed resistor with a programmable wiper that can be set via an SPI‑compatible 3‑wire serial interface. The parts offer 256‑position (8‑bit) resolution, low shutdown current (<5 µA), and operate from a single 2.7 V to 5.5 V supply.

These devices are offered in SOIC‑8, SOIC‑14, PDIP, and thin‑TSSOP packages and are rated for an industrial temperature range of –40 °C to +125 °C. Typical applications include mechanical potentiometer replacement, programmable filters, volume control, line‑impedance matching, and power‑supply adjustment.
