This document is the datasheet of AD7940, which introduces the features and characteristics of AD7940, including speed, power consumption, voltage range, bandwidth, interface, applications, etc.
The AD7940 is a 14‑bit successive‑approximation ADC that operates from a single 2.5 V to 5.5 V supply and provides up to 100 kSPS throughput. It features a low‑noise track‑and‑hold amplifier, no pipeline delays, and a serial interface compatible with SPI, QSPI, Microwire and DSP protocols. Power‑down mode reduces consumption to 0.5 pA.
Typical applications include battery‑powered systems, personal digital assistants, medical instruments and mobile communications. The device is offered in 6‑lead SOT‑23 and 8‑lead MSOP packages and includes detailed pin‑out, timing, and layout guidelines to aid PCB designers.
