About this manual

The MAX291, MAX292, MAX295 and MAX296 are 8th‑order low‑pass switched‑capacitor filters offered in 8‑pin DIP, 8‑pin SO and 16‑pin wide‑SO packages. They provide Butterworth (MAX291/MAX295) or Bessel (MAX292/MAX296) responses with corner‑frequency ranges from 0.1 Hz up to 25 kHz or 50 kHz, respectively.

These devices can be powered from a single +5 V supply or dual supplies (+2.375 V to +5.500 V). An uncommitted op‑amp is included for optional post‑filtering or anti‑aliasing. Clock frequencies up to 2.5 MHz set the filter corner frequency, and the internal oscillator can be used with an external capacitor.
