Error codeE000

The fixing heater fails to turn on due to a malfunction in the main or sub thermistor or the fixing heater itself. The manual's first action is: “Execute service mode '412' (error clear) to clear E000. Open the front door and the top unit, and let the fixing roller cool sufficiently. Turn off the power switch, and disconnect and then connect the power plug. Turn on the power switch. Does the fixing heater turn on?”

What to do

  1. Execute service mode '412' (error clear) to clear E000. Open the front door and the top unit, and let the fixing roller cool sufficiently. Turn off the power switch, and disconnect and then connect the power plug. Turn on the power switch. Does the fixing heater turn on? p. 272
  2. Turn off the power switch, and let the fixing roller cool sufficiently. Turn on the power switch, and select service mode '109' (fixing main thermistor detection temperature display). Does the reading remain unchanged at '109'? (After the check, be sure to turn off the power switch.) Check the wiring on the DC controller PCB to the thermistor; if normal, replace the thermistor. p. 272
  3. Turn off the power switch, and let the fixing roller cool sufficiently. Turn on the power switch, and select service mode '110' (fixing sub thermistor detection temperature display). Does the reading remain unchanged at '110'? (After the check, be sure to turn off the power switch.) Check the wiring from J109 on the DC controller PCB to the thermistor; if normal, replace the thermistor. p. 272
  4. Is the thermistor in even contact with the upper fixing assembly? Mount the thermistor correctly. p. 272
  5. Clean the area of contact of the thermistor. Is the problem corrected? p. 272
  6. Is the operating environment as specified? Inform the user that the operating environment does not meet the requirements. Instruct the user not to turn on the copier before the room is warm enough. p. 272
  7. Replace the DC controller. p. 272
