This application note introduces how to interface AD7276 high speed data converter with Blackfin® processor. It also provides an example code to demonstrate how to program the Blackfin processor's serial ports (SPI and SPORT) to receive data from AD7276 device in both core access and DMA access modes. Power-down mechanism between ADC conversions in DMA mode is also introduced. The entire reference design is implemented on ADSP- BF535 EZ-KIT Lite™ board.

This PDF document introduces Analog Devices' optical and high speed networking integrated circuits (ICs), which solve a variety of challenges faced by designers of datacom and telecom systems, optical modules, and subsystems. Analog Devices' products are suitable for a wide range of networking applications, including O/E/O conversion, clock recovery, backplane transmission, monitoring and control of optical power, power management, and clock generation and distribution. These high-performance ICs are designed to help users solve their networking problems simply and quickly, without compromising performance.

This application note describes a low-cost, high-accuracy watt-hour meter based on the AD7751. The meter described is intended for use in single-phase, two-wire distribution systems. However, the design can easily be adapted to suit specific regional requirements, e.g., in the United States power is usually distributed to resi- dential customers as single-phase, three-wire. The AD7751 is a low-cost, single-chip solution for elec- trical energy measurement. The most distinctive feature of the AD7751 is that it continuously monitors the phase and neutral (return) currents. A FAULT condition occurs if the two currents differ by more than 12.5%. Power cal- culation will be based on the larger of the two currents. The meter calculates power correctly even if one of the two wires does not carry any current. AD7751 provides an effective way to combat any attempt to return the current through earth, a very simple yet effective way of meter tampering. The AD7751 is comprised of two ADCs, reference circuit, and all the signal processing necessary for the calculation of real (active) power. The AD7751 also includes direct drive capability for electrome- chanical counters (i.e., the energy register) and has a high-frequency pulse output for calibration and com- munications purposes. This application note should be used in co-operation with the AD7751 and other related devices to construct an electrical energy measurement system.

This document describes the features and characteristics of the ADE7752 three-phase energy metering IC, including less than 0.1% error over a wide current dynamic range, suitability for various types of three-phase connections, reversed power polarity detection output, wide choices for stepper motors, and low start-up current.

The ADE7754 is a high performance multifunctional polyphase energy metering IC with serial port interface. It meets IEC1036 requirement and provides high accuracy, low power consumption and easy to use.

This user guide details some issues regarding the EVAL-CONTROL BRD2Z/EVAL-CONTROL BRD3Z (ECB) and the parallel port (LPTn) of the PC and provides guidelines for configuring and testing the port(s) for compatibility.

This application note introduces the EVAL-ADUSB2EBZ and describes its features and usage. The EVAL-ADUSB2EBZ is a USB-to-I2C and SPI converter that allows SigmaStudio™ integration for most SigmaDSP® processors. It features a standard Aardvark-compatible programming header and can provide SPI control of up to five slave devices.

This document is about the user manual of CS8191 chip. The chip can be used to measure vehicle speed or engine RPM, and it has higher output torque and better output signal symmetry than other competitive parts (CS289, and LM1819). It is protected against short circuit and overvoltage (60 V) fault conditions.

This application note describes a high-accuracy, low-cost power meter based on the ADE7756. The design is for use in the North American 3-wire/single-phase application. This meter may also be used in a single-phase, 2-wire distribution system with a minimal amount of changes. The reference design is comprised of the ADE7756, a microcontroller, LCD display, serial interface, and power supply. The ADE7756 is designed to interface to a microcontroller through a serial interface (SPI). The SPI port allows the user to calibrate various components of the meter, including gain, offset, and phase errors. The purpose of the microcontroller is to send display data to the LCD and control the various functions of the meter. An EEPROM is used to store various calibration parameters of the meter and store the meter’s data during a power-down. The entire meter is calibrated through an external calibration routine by a PC through an external SPI interface. The ADE7756 is comprised of two ADCs, a reference circuit, and all the signal processing necessary for the calculation of real (active) power. Circuitry is provided to null out various system errors including gain, phase, and offset errors.

The AD7607 is a 14-bit, bipolar input, 8-channel simultaneous sampling data acquisition module (DAS) with fast throughput rate and low power consumption. The module is powered by a single supply, has power short circuit protection, and supports SPI, QSPI™, MICROWIRE™ and DSP compatible serial interfaces, and provides 14-bit to 18-bit compatible solutions.
