This user guide describes the functionality of the Analog Devices, Inc., ADP8860 and provides software development guidelines. The ADP8860 communicates with an external processor using an I2C interface and an interrupt line (nINT). The processor sends initialization and activation commands to the ADP8860, which acts as a slave device. The interrupt line, from the ADP8860 to the processor, is used to indicate a failure condition, such as a thermal shutdown or an overvoltage and LED/output short circuit, or to indicate a light level threshold has been crossed. All interrupt sources are maskable.

It is ideal for use in portable electronics, including HD video camcorders, digital still cameras, cellular handsets, and portable media players. The digital video interface incorporates HDMI technology and supports HDTV formats up to 720p/1080i. The ADV7521NK also supports programmable AVI InfoFrames and x.v.Color.

The AD9888 is a complete 8-bit, 205 MSPS analog interface optimized for capturing RGB graphics signals from personal computers and workstations. Its 205 MSPS encode rate capability and 500 MHz full-power bandwidth support display resolutions up to UXGA (1600 x 1200 at 75 Hz) and all HDTV formats. The AD9888 fully integrates triple 8-bit/205 MSPS ADCs, on-chip PLL to generate a pixel clock from HSYNC and COAST, mid-scale clamping, and programmable gain, offset, and clamp controls. The AD9888 has the perfor- mance, features, and functionality to enable high- resolution display system designers to achieve the best possible image quality.

The AD9882 is a high-performance, mixed-signal interface that combines low system cost and excellent image quality with reliable operation. The design of the AD9882 is optimized to meet the needs of XGA and SXGA displays without compromising performance. The AD9882 offers designers the flexibility of an analog interface and a Digital Visual Interface (DVI) receiver integrated on a single chip. Also included is support for High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP). The analog interface contains a 140 MHz triple ADC that supports resolutions up to SXGA (1280 x 1024 at 75 Hz) with fully integrated sync processing. The digital interface contains a DVI version 1.0 compatible receiver and supports display resolutions up to SXGA (1280 x 1024 at 60 Hz). With the inclusion of HDCP, displays may now receive encrypted video content. The AD9882 allows for authentication of a video receiver, decryption of encoded data at the receiver, and renewability of the authentication during transmission as specified by the HDCP version 1.0 protocol.

AD9887A is an integrated dual interface solution that provides unparalleled image quality and maximum interoperability. The device is designed with high performance and interoperability in mind. Today’s high resolution displays must be able to assure legacy compatibility, be “digital ready” for the future, and provide the best image quality possible. AD9887A is pin-to-pin and software compatible with the AD9887, it is a drop in replacement for the AD9887 for an immediate upgrade to UXGA resolution. The analog interface contains a 170 MHz triple ADC that supports resolutions up to UXGA (1600 1200 at 60 Hz) with low-jitter PLL, fully integrated sync processing, and midscale clamp. The digital interface contains a DVI version 1.0 compatible receiver and supports display resolutions up to UXGA (1600 1200 at 60 Hz). With the inclusion of HDCP, displays may now receive encrypted video content. AD9887A allows for authentication of a video receiver, decryption of encoded data, and renewability of the authentication during transmission as specified by the HDCP version 1.0 protocol.

This document introduces the use of the SSM2317 evaluation board, which is a highly integrated single-chip mono Class-D audio amplifier that can maximize the performance of mobile phone applications.

ADI's highly integrated AD5755 data converter is a complete multichannel control integrated circuit (IC) that incorporates four precision 16-bit DACs with programmable voltage or 4 mA to 20 mA output drivers, along with dynamic power control. The dynamic power control feature works by continually sensing the load impedance and delivering only the required power to the load, thus minimizing power loss in the rest of the system. This feature reduces self-heating and temperature elevation in dense, multichannel system racks. The unparalleled combination of features and performance found in the AD5755 enables up to 4× more terminals at twice the performance in a single analog I/O module. Compared to other driver technologies available today, the AD5755 lowers power consumption by up to 80% and net thermal rise (silicon temperature minus ambient temperature) by 75%. The 16-bit AD5755 offers a full-channel specification with a maximum total unadjusted error of 0.05% and a relative accuracy of ±0.003% max and does not require system calibration, which shortens development time and reduces system maintenance costs.

This user guide explains the design and setup of the ADAU1781 SigmaDSP, this evaluation board provides full access to all analog and digital I/Os on the ADAU1781. The SigmaDSP is controlled by Analog Devices, Inc., SigmaStudio™ software, which interfaces to the board via a USB connection. This evaluation board can be powered either over the USB bus or by a single 3.8 V to 6 V supply, which is regulated to the voltages required on the board. The PC board is a 4-layer design, with a single ground plane and a single power plane on the inner layers. The board contains on-board microphones and speaker, and connectors for external microphones and speaker. The master clock can be provided externally or by the on-board 12.288 MHz active oscillator.
