This application note describes a 375W evaluation board based on the L6562 Transition- mode Power Factor Correction (PFC) controller (order code: EVAL6562-375W). The board implements a 375W, wide-range mains input, PFC pre-regulator that is suitable for a 300/350W ATX12V power supply unit (PSU).

This application note presents a non isolated buck and buck-boost converter reference board based on the VIPer12AS monolithic device. The circuit can be used to produce a single, non isolated positive or negative voltage. It is dedicated for building an auxiliary power supply based on the VIPer12AS monolithic device with rather low output power required.

After describing how the device works and the main features, a step-by-step design section is provided in order to help with the selection of the external components and the evaluation of the losses. The device performances are shown in terms of efficiency and thermal results. In conclusion, some application ideas are proposed.

This document describes the working principle and application methods of LEDs, and presents LED driving application examples using ST DC-DC converters.

The L6926 is a high efficiency monolithic synchronous step-down regulator from STMicroelectronics. It integrates a high voltage MOSFET and a synchronous rectifier and can operate at 100% duty cycle, delivering up to 800mA of continuous output current and regulating the output voltage from 0.6V to VIN. This device is designed using BCDV technology and has a low quiescent current (25μA) and shutdown current (0.2μA), making it very suitable for battery-powered equipment such as PDAs, handheld terminals, DSCs (digital still cameras) and cell phones.

This document describes a SMPS circuit design for LCD monitors or LCD-TVs. The circuit meets global power saving requirements and uses standard thru-hole technology, which can be easily converted to SMT technology.

This document describes the errors that may occur when using an adjustable shunt voltage reference like TL431 in programmable mode and provides a method to calculate the relative error. The document also discusses the impact of inner precision and resistor precision on the overall circuit.
