About this manual

The AD9951 is a direct digital synthesizer (DDS) that features a 14-bit DAC operating up to 400 MSPS. It utilizes advanced DDS technology coupled with an internal high-speed, high-performance DAC to form a digitally programmable, complete high-frequency synthesizer capable of generating frequency-agile analog output sinusoidal waveforms at up to 200 MHz.

The device is designed for fast frequency hopping and fine tuning resolution using a 32-bit frequency tuning word. Frequency tuning and control words are loaded via a serial I/O port. The AD9951 operates over an extended industrial temperature range of –40°C to +105°C and includes features such as phase modulation capability, multichip synchronization, and support for 5 V input levels on most digital inputs.
