The MCP2510 is a CAN bus V2.0A/B technology specification protocol controller that supports CAN1.2, CAN2.0A, active and passive CAN2.0B versions of the protocol, and can send and receive standard and extended frames. It also simultaneously has acceptance filtering and message management functions. The device contains three transmit buffers and two receive buffers, which reduce the MCU (MCU) management burden. MCU communication is achieved through the industry-standard serial peripheral interface (SPI), with a data transmission rate of up to 5 Mb/s.
The MCP2510 is an independent CAN controller that fully supports CAN 2.0A/B specifications, offering up to 1 Mbit/s communication speed, three transmit buffers and two receive buffers, and extensive filtering capabilities. It interfaces to a host MCU via a high‑speed SPI bus (up to 5 MHz) and includes programmable clock output, interrupt pins, and low‑power sleep mode.
The device is offered in 18‑pin PDIP/SOIC and 20‑pin TSSOP packages, operates from 3.0 V to 5.5 V, and is rated for industrial (‑40 °C to +85 °C) or extended (‑40 °C to +125 °C) temperature ranges. Detailed sections cover CAN message frames, bit timing, error detection, interrupt handling, register map, and electrical characteristics. This manual is written in Chinese.
