This document describes the features and characteristics of Microchip's PIC12F508/509/16F505 series 8-bit flash microcontrollers.
The PIC12F508/509/16F505 family are low‑cost, high‑performance 8‑bit CMOS flash microcontrollers from Microchip. They feature a 33‑instruction RISC core, up to 20 MHz clock, and a range of low‑power options such as an internal 4 MHz oscillator, watchdog timer and sleep mode. The devices are offered in PDIP, SOIC, MSOP and TSSOP packages with 8‑ or 14‑pin configurations.
Key specifications include 2 V‑5.5 V operating voltage, <350 µA current at 2 V/4 MHz, 100 nA standby current, 100 k erase‑cycle flash endurance, >40 year data retention, and temperature ranges from –40 °C to +85 °C (industrial) or –40 °C to +125 °C (extended). The data sheet provides pin‑outs, memory organization, I/O port details, timer module information, and development support tools. This manual is written in Chinese.
| Operating Voltage | 2.0 V to 5.5 V |
|---|---|
| Current Consumption (2 V, 4 MHz) | < 350 µA |
| Standby Current (2 V) | Typical 100 nA |
| Flash Endurance | 100 k erase cycles |
| Data Retention | > 40 years |
| Maximum Clock Frequency | 20 MHz |
| Instruction Cycle Time | 200 ns |
| Internal Oscillator Accuracy | ±1 % at 4 MHz |
The devices include programmable code protection to help prevent unauthorized reading or modification of the firmware.
The PIC12F508 provides five configurable I/O pins and one input‑only pin.
A change on any I/O pin can wake the device from sleep mode.
Supported tools include a full‑feature assembler, software simulator, online emulator, C compiler, low‑cost programmer and full‑feature programmer for Windows PCs.
