About this manual

The STBB2 is a fixed frequency, high-efficiency buck-boost DC-DC converter capable of providing output voltages from 1.2 V to 4.5 V from an input voltage range of 2.3 V to 5.5 V. It features integrated low-RDS(on) N-channel and P-channel MOSFET switches and operates in auto mode or forced PWM mode via the MODE pin. The device includes a bypass power save function that reduces current consumption to a maximum of 5 µA when the output voltage equals the input voltage.

The STBB2 is available in fixed output voltage versions (2.9 V and 3.4 V) and an adjustable version. It is packaged in a Flip Chip 20 bumps package with a 0.4 mm pitch, measuring 2.1 x 1.8 mm. Key features include soft-start control, thermal shutdown, current limit, and undervoltage lockout protection.

Frequently asked questions

How does the bypass power save function work?

In bypass mode, the high-side switches are turned on so the output voltage equals the input voltage, reducing current consumption to a maximum of 5 µA.

What are the fixed output voltage options for the STBB2?

The fixed versions offer output voltages of 2.9 V and 3.4 V.
