This document introduces the characteristics of TAS5001 digital audio PWM processor, including dynamic range, THD+N, power efficiency, input data, sampling rates, package, internal PLL, power supply, mute and clicks and pops reduction
The Texas Instruments TAS5001 is a 24-bit stereo PCM-PWM modulator designed as part of a True Digital Audio Amplifier (TDAA) system. It accepts serial PCM digital audio streams and converts them into a 3.3-V PWM audio stream, which drives a companion power output device to drive loudspeakers directly.
| Dynamic Range (Device) | 96-dB |
|---|---|
| THD+N | < 0.08% |
| Input Data Bits | 16-, 20-, or 24-Bit |
| Sampling Rates | 32-kHz, 44.1-kHz, 48-kHz, 88.2-kHz, 96-kHz |
| Package Type | 48-Pin TQFP |
| Power Supply Voltage | 3.3-V |
The device supports standard AES sampling rates of 32 kHz, 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, 88.2 kHz, and 96 kHz.
Yes, it supports double speed modes for 88.2 kHz or 96 kHz sampling rates using the DBSPD pin.
