TEXAS INSTRUMENTS TPS2020 TPS2021 TPS2022 TPS2023 TPS2024 POWER-DISTRIBUTION SWITCHES handbook

The TPS202x family of power distribution switches is designed for applications where heavy capacitive loads and short circuits are likely to be encountered. These devices are 50-mΩ N-channel MOSFET high-side power switches with features such as short-circuit and thermal protection, overcurrent logic output, etc. They operate in a range of 2.7V to 5.5V and have a logic-level enable input compatible with 5V and 3V logic.

Frequently asked questions

What are the short-circuit current limits for the TPS202x series?

The limits are 0.3-A for TPS2020, 0.9-A for TPS2021, 1.5-A for TPS2022, 2.2-A for TPS2023, and 3-A for TPS2024.

What is the maximum input voltage range for these power-distribution switches?

The device operates with an input voltage ranging from -0.3 V to 6 V.

At what junction temperature does the internal thermal protection circuit shut off the switch?

The power switch shuts off when the junction temperature rises to approximately 140°C.

What is the typical rise time for the output voltage of these switches?

The rise and fall times are typically in the 2-ms to 9-ms range.
