HI 83900 Suction Lysimeter instruction manual
The HI 83900 suction lysimeter is a tool designed to extract soil solution samples using a porous ceramic tip connected to a transparent tube. It allows operators to monitor nutrient levels such as ammonia, nitrate, phosphorous, and potassium by creating a vacuum inside the sampler tube that exceeds soil water tension.
The operational guide details the assembly process, including inserting the rubber capillary into the sampler tube and performing an activation procedure with cleaning solution to ensure sterility. Installation requires placing the device in the root zone of representative plants at specific distances from drip sources depending on soil type.
| Tube Length Options | 30 cm, 60 cm, or 90 cm |
|---|---|
| Recommended Vacuum Level | -60 cb (centibar) |
