This document introduces the features and advantages of the Varian 490-GC Sulfur in Gas Analyzer, including high sensitivity and unique selectivity, dual-detector technology, electronic gas control technology and turnkey solution.
The Varian 490-GC Sulfur in Gas Analyzer is designed for fast and reliable on-line or at-line sulfur analysis of hydrocarbon streams. It features complementary dual-detector technology, combining a universal Thermal Conductivity Detector (u-TCD) with a highly sensitive Differential Mobility Detector (u-DMD). This setup allows the analyzer to obtain data on bulk matrix composition while simultaneously targeting trace levels of specific sulfur components without interference from other co-eluting matrix components.
The instrument is a turnkey solution that comes factory pre-tuned and includes full documentation and an operational method. It utilizes electronic gas control (EGC) for high reproducibility and capillary column technology for efficient separation. Due to its compact size, the analyzer is suitable for both on-line monitoring of odorant levels in operations and laboratory analysis.
