This document describes the features and characteristics of the STM706T/S/R and STM708T/S/R 3V Supervisors released on February 26, 2005, including precision VCC monitoring, reset and reset outputs, watchdog timer, manual reset input, power-fail comparator, low supply current, etc.
The STM706T/S/R, STM706P, and STM708T/S/R are self-contained supervisory devices that provide microprocessor supervisory functions. They utilize a precision voltage reference and comparator to monitor the Vcc input for out-of-tolerance conditions, forcing the reset output low or high depending on the specific model configuration.
These devices are available in 8-pin SOIC or TSSOP packages. Key features include a precision voltage monitor with thresholds ranging from 2.59V to 3.15V, a watchdog timer with a 1.6-second timeout, a manual reset input, and a power-fail comparator for early warning of impending power failure.
| Supply Current | 40uA (TYP) |
|---|---|
| Watchdog Timeout | 1.6sec (TYP) |
| Operating Temperature | -40°C to 85°C |
| Reset Assertion Threshold | Down to 1.0V |
| Reset Pulse Width | 200ms (TYP) |
The typical supply current is 40uA.
The typical watchdog timer timeout period is 1.6 seconds.
The reset is guaranteed to assert down to a supply voltage of 1.0V.
