Extensions for Steinberg DAW is a set of program plug-ins and project templates developed by Yamaha to enhance the functions of Steinberg DAW software. By installing this software and connecting the MOTIF XS series (MOTIF XS6/7/8 and MOTIF-RACK XS) to a computer via an IEEE1394 cable, users can link Cubase with the MOTIF XS. The manual covers situations when connecting the MOTIF XS series to a computer to which Cubase 4 / Cubase Studio 4 / Cubase AI4 and Extensions for Steinberg DAW have already been installed.
The software provides several key features, including the auto setting of the Audio Driver, Audio/MIDI Ports with device names, auto settings of the Remote Device, and project templates with Input/Output Bus settings. Additionally, it allows for song import from the MOTIF XS6/7/8. Users must ensure that Cubase 4 or higher is installed before installing Extensions for Steinberg DAW, as the Project Template files must be installed to the same folder where Cubase resides.
The software is designed to work with Cubase 4, Cubase Studio 4, and Cubase AI4.
You must use a USB storage device or connect the MOTIF XS to a computer via ETHERNET.
It is required for all features except Song Import when using the MOTIF XS6, MOTIF XS7, or MOTIF-RACK XS.
