About this manual

The Yamaha N3/N2 AvantGrand is a hybrid acoustic/digital piano that combines over one hundred years of piano craftsmanship with advanced technology. It features an authentic acoustic piano touch with a special grand piano action where hammers hit strings from underneath, utilizing real-wood keys made from the special material Ivorite for white keys.

The instrument includes Yamaha's four-channel Multi Sampling tone-generation technology, recording voices from left, right, center, and rear positions of a grand piano. It utilizes a four-channel Multi Speaker System with dedicated amplifiers for each speaker and features a special flat resonator to enhance expressive response. The N3/N2 also includes a Tactile Response System (TRS) to realistically reproduce the vibration felt when playing an actual grand piano.
