The AIC1570 is a 5-bit DAC that combines a synchronous PWM power regulator with an LDO and a linear controller. It is compatible with HIP6018 and provides 3 regulated voltages for the microprocessor core, clock, and GTL power. It features a simple voltage-mode PWM control, a dual N-channel MOSFET synchronous driver, and operates from +3.3V, +5V, and +12V inputs. The AIC1570 offers fast transient response, a full 0% to 100% duty ratio, ±1.0% output voltage for VCORE, and ±2.0% output voltage reference for VCLK and VGTL. It has a TTL compatible 5-bit digital-to-analog core output voltage selection with a range from 1.3V to 3.5V, adjustable in 0.1V steps from 2.1V to 3.5V and 0.05V steps from 1.3V to 2.05V. The AIC1570 also has adjustable current limit, microprocessor core voltage protection against shorted MOSFET, power good output voltage monitor, and over-voltage and over-current fault monitors. It operates with a 200KHz free-running oscillator programmable up to 350KHz.
