About this manual

The REF-03 is a +2.5 V precision voltage reference from Analog Devices. It operates from a wide input range (4.5 V‑33 V), offers low output voltage drift (50 ppm/°C), and features low line and load regulation (50 ppm/V and 100 ppm/mA). The device is supplied in 8‑pin plastic DIP and SO packages and is rated for -40 °C to +85 °C operation.

Typical applications include setting reference points in data‑conversion circuits, log amplifiers, 4‑20 mA transmitters and power supplies. The reference can be used with a single +5 V rail, and higher output currents can be achieved by adding an external boost transistor. Adjustable bipolar references and negative references can be generated with simple op‑amp circuits shown in the handbook.
