About this manual

This document describes the Infineon BTS441T Smart Highside Power Switch, a N‑channel vertical power FET with an integrated charge pump and CMOS‑compatible input. It outlines the device’s basic functions, protection mechanisms, and typical applications such as 5 V, 12 V and 24 V DC loads, including resistive, inductive and capacitive loads.

The datasheet includes functional diagrams, pin assignments, maximum ratings, electrical characteristics, input specifications, package information, and timing diagrams. It also lists the integrated protection functions (short‑circuit, current‑limit, overload, thermal shutdown, over‑voltage, reverse‑battery, loss‑of‑ground, loss‑of‑Vbb, and ESD) and provides ordering codes for the standard and straight‑lead packages.

Frequently asked questions

What external resistor is required on the GND pin for over‑voltage protection?

A 150 Ω resistor must be placed in the GND connection to limit the current for over‑voltage protection.

What are the standard and straight‑lead package codes for the BTS441T?

The standard (staggered) package is P‑TO220‑5‑11 and the straight‑lead package is P‑TO220‑5‑12.
