Intersil ISL6504 and ISL6504A Datasheet

ISL6504, ISL6504A are multiple linear power controllers, integrating three linear controllers/regulators, switching, monitoring and control functions into a 16-pin wide-body SOIC or 20-pin QFN 6x6 package. The ISL6504, ISL6504A operating mode (active outputs or sleep outputs) is selectable through two digital control pins, S3 and S5.

About this manual

The ISL6504 and ISL6504A are multiple‑linear power controllers designed for AC‑PI‑compliant microprocessor and computer applications. They integrate three linear regulators, switching, monitoring and control functions in a 16‑lead SOIC or 20‑lead QFN package.

The devices provide four ACPI‑controlled output voltages (5VSB, 3.3V, 1.2V VID, 1.5V) with built‑in undervoltage monitoring, fault reporting and temperature shutdown. Pin S3 and S5 select active or sleep operating modes, and the ISL6504A keeps the 5VbDUAL output on during S4/S5 sleep states, unlike the ISL6504.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the ISL6504 and ISL6504A regarding the 5VbDUAL output?

In the ISL6504 the 5VbDUAL output is shut down in S4/S5 sleep states, while in the ISL6504A the 5VbDUAL output stays on during those sleep states.

What is the maximum supply voltage the device can tolerate?

The device is rated for a supply voltage up to +7.0 V.
